The news was revealed by Google on its official blog, and is gradually reaching applications for Android and iOS mobile devices. Please note that updates are rolled out gradually through the PlayStore and the App Store.
1. Gestures to activate full screen mode on YouTube
As soon as the update reaches our devices, it will be possible to enter and exit the full / full screen mode more easily. Just swipe up (scroll up) in any video playing on YouTube.
When this gesture is performed, the video will rotate and be shown in full screen, as shown above. To minimize the video in the app, just reverse the gesture, then swipe down (scroll down).
2. Enabling subtitles just got easier
While until now the button to activate subtitles on YouTube was hidden in the video settings, or rather, in the collapsible menu when playing content, now it will be easier to activate this useful tool within the platform.
The Enable Subtitles option is now visible directly in the options menu, making it easier to access and take advantage of. Also, we have a more careful design that improves navigation and gives more emphasis to this point.

Something already introduced in the desktop version (YouTube version) of YouTube is the ability to organize videos into chapters, or video chapters as provided by Google itself. This shows us all the chapters or sections of the video in question.
To facilitate this process, a prominent image or thumbnail of the continuously updated video as we drag the course. This way, the user can find the content they are looking for more quickly.
4. Navigation improvements on the YouTube app
Among the lesser-caliber news, even more welcome we have greater attention paid to the browsing experience within the YouTube app. Now we will have suggestions presented by the app to, for example, rotate the phone and view the content in full screen, or experience the content in VR mode and explore virtual reality.
5. More uniform design in the app for Android and iOS
Finally, Google highlights the changes made to the entire graphical interface of the application. There are minor changes in various aspects, animations and transitions between windows and menus to be presented on YouTube.
An example of this is the new look of player and respective buttons, with an improved design and more care when playing a video.
Google has said that most of these new features will also arrive on the desktop version (for computers) and that further improvements are being finalized and will arrive on the platform soon.
