Actress Naya Rivera died in a California boating accident last July. Now, a manslaughter lawsuit has been filed against the Ventura County and United Water Conservation District park managers.

The documents were presented by Rivera’s ex-husband Ryan Dorsey (37) on behalf of his 5-year-old son Josey.

According to court documents available to CNN, it is argued, on the one hand, that the boat did not have a safely accessible ladder, no suitable rope, no radio and no safety mechanism. No one, however, should have reported the actress to the gusts of wind of 34 kilometers per hour in the area.

In the television series “Glee,” California-born Rivera played bitchy cheerleader Santana Lopez, who falls in love with a classmate. In her latest role she can be seen in the dance drama “Step Up: High Water”.

The fatal boat accident occurred during a trip on Lake Piru with her five-year-old son. Josey was found asleep on the boat soon after, while his mother Naya Rivera, 33, was found dead five days later.
