On 20 October 1971, in front of 28,000 fans, including 10,000 Italians, Gladbach humiliated Inter 7-1 after a match with a song. In the 29th minute, on the score of 2-1 for the Germans, the Italian scorer Roberto Boninsegna collapsed on the grass after being hit by a box of Coca Cola.
The latter collapsed on the grass and did not continue the game. The Italians said that the box was full and that the player was injured. After nearly 10 minutes of chaos, the match resumed and Gladbach held a festival. It must be said that this match was not broadcast on television.
