There are many people who see advantages in raising their children bilingual. As a rule, however, families choose a language spoken by at least one parent. Not so with Clooney, at least if you can believe the Oscar winner’s words.

“We did a really stupid thing,” he said during the “Jimmy Kimmel Live” show. Her three-year-old twins spoke Italian, reportedly fluently. The problem with this: “I don’t speak Italian and my wife doesn’t speak Italian,” says the 59-year-old. George Clooney has been married to human rights lawyer Amal Clooney since 2014.

“We armed them with a language,” George Clooney said of his children. “I say, ‘Go back inside and tidy up your rooms’, and they say,’ Eh, daddy asshole ‘, and I say,’ Eh, what?”

George Clooney did not disclose where the children acquired their language skills from. However, the couple owns a villa on Lake Como and is regularly found in Italy.

George Clooney has received two Academy Awards for his work: once as best supporting actor in the film “Syriana” and once as a producer on “Argo”. At the end of the year, the actor is expected to be seen on Netflix in a new role – in the science fiction film “The Midnight Sky”.
