We had heard that the August launch was planned, but now we know that the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 will be released in the UK in just under six weeks, Thursday 4th August. In the UK, the Tab will be launching with Android 3.1 Honeycomb and we would expect to see TouchWiz out of the box there too, as it features widely in Samsung’s European promotional materials.
The 3G version will also come with a HSPA + compatible radio, although this won’t do you much good in the UK yet, as UK networks have yet to implement this technology. There is no mention of any price, but we would be surprised if the Wifi-only version surpasses the iPad 2’s £ 400 asking price.
The press release is after the jump. Check out our Google IO Galaxy Tab Limited Edition review to see what you can expect from the retail version.
