Samsung revamped its range of budget phones today, with the announcement of the Galaxy A12 and Galaxy A02s. We are dealing with phones with large screens, 6.5 inches, but also with generous batteries. The resolutions are HD and we have them also quadruple or triple. All details, including prices, are shown below.
While we don’t have clear details from Samsung, we suspect both models have polycarbonate bodies, 4G connectivity, perhaps even USB-C ports. It should have Android 10 with One UI 2.0, at best.
Samsung Galaxy A12
samsung Galaxy A12 follows the Galaxy A11, launched in March 2020. It updates in chapters such as camera and battery in particular. For example, it goes from a triple to a quad camera, which includes a 48MP main sensor, along with a 5MP ultrawide camera, 2MP Bokeh and 2MP Macro. They are arranged in a square module, under which the LED flash is located. The screen is a 6.5-inch TFT LCD with HD + resolution and drop bang, which houses an 8MP selfie camera.
Inside is a file octa core processor clocked at 2.3 GHz and although Samsung hasn’t revealed what model it is, we suspect it would be a Helio P35. We also have 3, 4 or 6 GB of RAM on board, but also 32, 64 or 128 GB of storage. A microSD slot also appears. For security we have a fingerprint reader on the side and there is also Knox. We also mention 5000 mAh battery, which charges at 15W.
The terminal is available in black, blue, white and red and is sold from January 2021 for 179 euros in the 64 GB version.
Samsung Galaxy A02s
Let’s lower the bar a little and implicitly the price. Samsung Galaxy A02s is the successor of the Galaxy A01 from December 2019. It is an entry level phone with a 6.5-inch TFT HD + screen, but also with a processor Snapdragon 450 inside, clocked at 1.8 GHz. Comes with 3 GB of RAM, 32 GB of storage, microSD slot and a 5000 mAh battery, which charges at 15W. This model has a 13MP main camera, 2MP macro and 2MP bokeh. The selfie camera has 5 MP and is cut in fringe.
This model will arrive only in black and white from February 2021 at the figure of 150 euros.
