This is exactly what brought him to the premier class of MotoGP after two years in the 2012 World Superbike Championship, where he rode for Yamaha, Ducati and Honda. For the past six years Crutchlow has been under contract with Lucio Cecchinello’s LCR team, and since 2018 he has as teammate the Japanese Takaaki Nakagami, who stole the show this year.

While Crutchlow could only collect 32 points due to injury and WM-18. the Japanese scored 116 points and finished tenth overall.
