Four more cases of COVID-19 in Bas-Saint-Laurent

In its November 16 report, the CISSS du Bas-Saint-Laurent reports an increase of four cases of COVID-19 on its territory. There are two in the MRC de la Matanie, one in the MRC in La Mitis and one in the MRC in Rimouski-Neigette.

No COVID-19 patients are currently hospitalized, a decrease of two from the previous day. Currently, 501 people are believed to have recovered and 354 screening tests were performed the day before. Since the start of the pandemic, 609 positive cases of COVID-19 have been reported in the Bas-Saint-Laurent region and 13 people have sadly lost their lives.

DISCOVER IN THE REGION

At the Résidence les Bâtisseurs de Matane, the situation is considered “stable” by the CISSS du Bas-Saint-Laurent. There are 83 positive cases, of which 62 are residents, 18 workers and 3 carers. Four people with COVID-19 have died.

An outbreak is also underway at the Résidence des Sages de Matane. There is a new case today in one user, bringing the total to 15 cases, including 13 residents and 2 workers. We also regret two deaths.

The situation has been stable for several days at Rimouski’s GMF-U, which still has three cases.

The most recent data on the evolution of COVID-19 in Quebec show 1,218 new cases, for a total number of infected people of 125,072. There are 25 new deaths, for a total of 6,651 deaths. The number of hospitalizations increased by 4 compared to the previous day, for a total of 591. Of these, the number of people in intensive care has decreased by 2, and stands at 87.
