Can you imagine ordering a product online and receiving a totally different one at home that doesn’t even come close to the purchase price? Well, this is what people from the UK who bought the Play Station 5 (PS5) on Amazon have experienced in recent days and have not received the console.
They reported on social networks that they were “scammed” by the virtual shop after receiving several unsolicited items.
Journalist and TV host Bex April May said on Twitter that she had received a notification that her order could not be delivered. However, hours later his package arrived.
To his surprise, he found that instead of the console he had ordered it contained an electric fryer.
Another one of the internet users who complained said they received a 5-kilogram bag of rice, although the box actually contains a large bag of bulgur, a wheat derivative widely used in Middle Eastern cooking.
“When I opened the Play Station 5 I had ordered from Amazon I found this! Someone replaced it with rice! ”, You can read in his Twitter entry.
Similarly, Sam Felts, another network user, received an electric fryer in a package that, according to the complaint, had been opened at some point before it was delivered.
Also, another of the scammed people sarcastically thanked the virtual store for delivering cans of dog food.
In addition to the anger at not getting the product they paid for in the first place, there’s the big problem that they won’t be able to get it anytime soon. The PS5 ran out of Amazon inventory.
For its part, the company owned by mogul Jeff Bezos has issued a statement assuring them that they are investigating and some reports indicate that the thieves have opened shipments in transit and replaced the console with other items, The Guardian reported.
Happy # PS5 all day. I tried to document our presentation, but Amazon tricked us with an unsolicited air fryer (after providing the delivery password). Has anyone else had this problem today? pic.twitter.com/99IUSzSJUU

Thanks to the people of Turkey who are sending me many recipes for my wheat (and not the rice as I initially thought)!

I was told that a signature would be required multiple times during purchase and in compliance emails. Nobody even tried to get me to sign and the driver didn’t even wait to see me collect the package. Instead he was walking down the street about 20 seconds too at 2 /? pic.twitter.com/UMIwWuuoX7

Not only do the products that were in the box don’t match the weight on the front of the package and when you search for the * wrong item * on your site I can’t even find it. So it looks more and more like my item was stolen. #Amazon # AmazonPS5Scam
