Football Bundesliga: Bayer Leverkusen win against FC Augsburg


Bayer Leverkusen are the new quarter of the Bundesliga. Leverkusen won 3-1 (1-0) against FC Augsburg from former manager Heiko Herrlich. Lucas Alario led Leverkusen in the lead twice (16th minute, 74th), Daniel Caliguri in the meantime had equalized (51st). Moussa Diaby put the finishing touches in recovery time (90 + 4). Herrlich trained in Leverkusen from July 2017 to December 2018.

The game was not as clear as the outcome. Augsburger was able to convince with an early pressing and caused some problems for the hosts. Raphael Framberger, however, ruined Augusta’s good opening phase by awkwardly touching an outstretched arm on a header from Alario in his own penalty area. Alario himself took the lead (16th).

Alario scored in the second attempt: two minutes after hitting the post, a free kick by Nadiem Amiri nods to renew the lead (74th). After Augsburg goalkeeper Rafael Gikiewicz also rushed forward in injury time, Diaby hit the net with an empty net on the break (90 + 4).
