From that moment on, Flor Silvestre’s career began to grow exponentially. She was the host and singer of a radio show, received her first proposals for making films and recorded her first albums.
The Tsar of Mexican cinema, Gregorio Walerstein, hired her to be part of five of his films, the first of which was “Primero soy Mexicano” (1950). In the same year the singer records her first albums at Columbia Records in Mexico, with which she celebrates her first successes.
His discography includes more than 30 albums that collect a large number of Mexican and Latin American genres. The record label with which he worked the most was Discos Musart, responsible for songs like “Cielo Rojo”, “Renunciación” and “Mi casita de paja”, among others that have marked his career. Matriarch of a dynasty
On a personal level, Flor Silvestre has had three marriages: her first husband was Andrés Nieto, with whom she had her first daughter, the dancer Dalia Inés Nieto, at the age of 18. Her second husband was the announcer and chronicler of the bullfight Francisco Rubiales, better known as Paco Malgesto, with whom she had two other children: Francisco and Marcela Rubiales. After a divorce, the actress married the prolific singer, actor, producer, screenwriter and director Antonio Aguilar, whom she allegedly confessed to being the “love of her life” and with whom she would work in some film productions.
Their love story began with the recordings of the film “The rebellion of the sierra”, in 1957. They married as civilians in 1959. A year later the singer and actor Antonio Aguilar was born and eight years later the popular Pepe Aguilar.
The talent of Antonio Aguilar and Flor Silvestre was inherited by their children and grandchildren, who continued with the dynasty, as most of them followed in the footsteps of these great figures and made their own space.
