In the new HR crime scene, LKA investigator Felix Murot is on vacation in the Taunus. Most of the filming locations for the new HR crime scene were also there, but not all.
She just wants to take a few days off and then this: Murot meets a man who could be her twin. The two get drunk and the next morning the twin dies Murot slips into his life to find the killer. The new has been created hr crime scene “Monsieur Murot’s holidays” especially in the Taunus.
The hotel
When Murot is on vacation, he doesn’t leave, but stops at a small hotel in the Taunus, crosses the countryside by bicycle, reads and eats well. The hotel where he is staying is actually the Schlosshotel Rettershof in Kelkheim, near the Königstein district of Schneidhain.
The restaurant
The restaurant scene where Murot meets his “doppelganger” Boenfeld has been re-created at the nearby Königstein headquarters: dinner at Villa Borgnis in Kurhaus am Park.
The villa is a traditional building originally built in the early 19th century. In 1883 the Frankfurt banker Matthias Franz Borgnis bought it as a summer residence. The family rebuilt it several times and in 1926 went to the city. From 1927 the building was used as a spa, later it became the site of events including a registry office.
The country road
After a night of partying, Boenfeld is found dead on a country road and mistaken for Murot due to a change of clothes. The location was Oberemser Straße (L3023) near Idstein-Kröftel.
Later scenes such as Murot’s excursion with Boenfeld’s wife were also shot here.
The car dealer
Murot takes advantage of the mix and investigates “undercover” in the family, where initially no one suspects. Murot also remains unrecognized at the Boenfeld car dealership.
The car dealership is not actually located in Taunus, but in an industrial area in the Bergen-Enkheim district of Frankfurt.
In Frankfurt, the film was also shot in other locations: the rooms of the Hessischer Rundfunk in Dornbusch served as a police and pathology station. The cemetery scene where Murot observes his own funeral was created in the main cemetery on Eckenheimer Landstrasse.
The tennis club
While playing tennis, Murot and Boenfeld’s wife approach. The film was shot in the Bad Homburg tennis club.
Incidentally, the scene is a kind of homage to Jacques Tati’s “Vacation of Monsieur Hulot” of 1953.
