Firefox 84 closes the year as the last major release of Mozilla’s browser in December. This version will be exciting for various reasons: Firefox 84 is the last version of Firefox that still supports Flash, so it’s over. Mozilla has again corrected its plans since spring, originally Firefox 84 should already be the Flash killer, now it’s Firefox 85.
But where there is an end, there is often a new beginning. There is good news for Apple fans who have stocked up on new Macs with the M1 chip. Firefox 84 should run natively on the Apple Silicon ARM platform.
Firefox 84 is currently still in beta, but you can now try the preliminary version. The release of the final version is officially scheduled for December 15, 2020.
