Finale to “The Masked Singer”: Sarah Lombardi kidnapped like a shiny skeleton

A former BRAVO guy in aggro mode, a big-cheeked hippo-cheeked TV chef and a former “DSDS” star in a frightening frenzy: the latest masks are thrown at the grand finale of “The Masked Singer”. Only at the end does the glittery skeleton drop the covers: the winner is actually Sarah Lombardi.

Who will follow the two top hide and seek players Max Mutzke and Tom Beck to the Olympics of “The Masked Singer”? After weeks of unmasked anticipation and the good life of former entertainment sponsors who have been forgotten, the time has finally come: the grand finale of Germany’s hairiest prime-time show. And former Highway cop Tom Beck, who this time has the honor of joining the consulting team alongside Sonja Zietlow and Bülent Ceylan, is also quite nervous and excited: “I find this season particularly exciting because I’m still completely clueless with at least two masks “says the champion of last season in record.

Well, the fact is: ladies and gentlemen Veronica Ferres, Sylvie Meis, Vicky Leandros, Wigald Boning and Jochen Schropp are no longer available for advice. In the past few weeks cats, frogs, alpacas and others have already been delivered without success (regarding the hoped-for final participation). However, the field of possible final names hasn’t really been narrowed down. The imaginary vase is still filled to the brim. In the meantime, the names of the best players in the sector have also been added. Is there the queen of success Helene Fischer in the costume of the frozen skeleton? And Klaas Heufer-Umlauf echoes behind the mask of Anubis?

“This will be the night of nights!”

Moderator Matthias Opdenhövel is at least as excited as all the other eye and auditory witnesses. “This will be the night of nights!” The show companion promises full-bodied. Shortly after the stage shakes. With powerful rock sounds from the karaoke replica and chants thrown from the bottom of my heart, the pounding Anubis, the roaring alien, the twirling hippo, the nervous meerkats and the mystical skeleton set the first final exclamation points.

But vocal performances are only a small piece of the big picture puzzle. The once again impressive costumes of the candidates cause much more stir, and of course the question that makes everything else pale: who is behind what masquerade?

“The cat” in meerkat costume

The first to finally get rid of their second, third and fourth skin after many weeks of secrecy are Daniela Katzenberger and her husband Lucas Cordalis. As a meerkat duo, Malle’s pair weren’t good at any funny moves: “If I can’t sing, but I can move my ass!” Summarizes Katzenberger with a mischievous smile on her face.

Anubis and the alien on one side and the hippopotamus and the skeleton on the other side of the stage prepare for the next semifinal. Encouraged by the important team of riddles, who “astonished” think that each performance is “really great” and “celebrate” all the “characters” of the evening, the quartet tries again.

A Bülent Ceylan grumbling at the advice desk and a Sonja Zietlow rejecting tears can barely keep their emotions in check. Soft plush guitars and microphones that suddenly develop a life of their own fly through the image. So it’s time to make the final decisions.

Rocker cowboy Alec Völkel loses in the final

Unfortunately, Krawallo’s attitude and the airy hippo have to say goodbye. In other words: BRAVO Boy Veteran Ben Blümel (Anubis) and Chef Master Nelson Müller (Hippopotamus) are back in real life. In the all-important final duel, the “cake tube” alien and the far more professional skeleton face off. After a four-hour carnival break in major and minor, even Germany’s top cowboy rocker Alec Völkel (Alien) has to admit that there’s no weed against the mystical charm and vocal strength of the skeleton.

In a final dramatic act, the mask separates itself from the rest of the scary and frightening costume. And what comes to light: the radiant face of the winner Sarah Lombardi. Applause, applause! Alessio’s mother still has it. Then I indulge in a series of “Hui Buh” radio games. Unleash, close your eyes. I wish you a good night’s sleep.
