  • The last part of the Matrix was shot in Potsdam.

  • There was a big party on the set that was declared a scene.

  • However, there are doubts about this version.

Until a few days ago, the fourth part of the Matrix series was being filmed in Babelsberger Studios in Potsdam near Berlin. On Thursday evening, at the end of filming, a party with around 200 guests took place on the film’s website, as «Bild» writes (paid article). The first guests arrived around 6pm.

For everyone there was a quick crown test in advance, as a guest told the newspaper. “Everyone had to come with a mask, but many didn’t wear it later,” continues the 39-year-old.

Guests could help themselves in a rich buffet and there was a lot of alcohol. A DJ provided the right music. It was not verified whether you wore a mask and kept your distance. Keanu Reeves and his partner were also there who left the event at 8.30pm.

But how did the great Matrix party come about? Why: According to the Brandenburg Ministry of Health, “indoor events are only allowed after registration, with an approved hygiene concept and a maximum of 50 people with masks and distance”. Events with an entertainment character are basically prohibited, explains «Bild».

But: The party was recorded as a photo shoot, guests came as extras. As Studio Babelsberg spokesperson says, according to the production it was “a party scene where hygiene requirements were met”. The shots were deliberately set at the end of the works.

However, it remains questionable whether this was really a scene from a movie. As one witness describes, there were no stage directions and no one filmed on the spot. The responsible health department wants to contact the firm soon for an audition.

Do you or someone you know have a problem with crown time?
