These 11 stars are named footballers of the world: the big favorite comes from Bayern

The best – Weltfussballer

FIFA has nominated eleven players for the 2020 World Player of the Year election. The big favorite is Bayern Munich’s Robert Lewandowski, Champions League winner, who scored 38 goals in calendar year 2020. Cristiano Ronaldo, also nominated , follows this ranking with 33 goals in second place.

In addition to the top two scorers, there are also Thiago Alcantara (Bayern / Liverpool), Sadio Mané, Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk (all Liverpool), Kylian Mbappé and Neymar (both Paris Saint-Germain), Kevin De Bruyne (Manchester City) and Sergio Ramos (Real Madrid) for the election. And of course, six-time FC Barcelona winner Lionel Messi shouldn’t be missing from the nominees.

In addition to captains and coaches of national teams from around the world and over 200 media representatives, fans also vote in an online vote on who will be named “The Best”. The vote lasts from 25 November to 9 December. The three finalists will be announced on 11 December and the awards ceremony will take place online on 17 December.

The best goalkeeper in the world

For the best goalkeeper award are Keylor Navas (Paris St-Germain), Thibaut Courtois (Real Madrid), Alisson Becker (Liverpool), Jan Oblak (Atlético Madrid), Manuel Neuer (Bayern Munich) and Marc-André ter Stegen (FC Barcelona). Anything but a choice from Neuer would have been a surprise given his performance in the Champions League.

The best – Welttrainer

Hansi Flick (Bayern), Jürgen Klopp (Liverpool) and Zinédine Zidane (Real Madrid) could hope to be honored as coach of the year. Premier League’s Marcelo Bielsa also promoted Leeds United and Europa League winner Julen Lopetegui of Sevilla were named. Hansi Flick, who has won pretty much everything there is to win with Bayern Munich, certainly has the best cards.

The best – Weltfussballerin

Among the women, the big favorite is Pernille Harder. The Danish forward, who moved from VfL Wolfsburg to Chelsea for € 350,000 in the summer, has already won the election for European footballer of the year.

The best – Puskas Award

At the “The Best” gala, the “Puskas Award” is also awarded for the most beautiful achievement of the year. 11 cool boxes have been nominated, one more beautiful than the other. But choose your favorite yourself!
