Johnny Depp is out of the Fantastic Beasts series – but he can still console himself with his paycheck. For the third part of “Fantastic Beasts” he should receive at least ten million dollars, although it probably won’t be seen there. This was reported by the American magazine “Hollywood Reporter”. As a result, like many Hollywood greats, Depp has a so-called “Pay or Play” contract, which includes a full cancellation fee, even if the film isn’t shot or the role is changed.
The third part of JK Rowling’s film series is currently shooting, but the Warner Bros. film studio has asked Depp to step down from his role as villain Gellert Grindelwald. A scene with Depp has already been shot, but it is doubtful that it will ever be seen. Warner Bros. is now looking for a new Grindelwald actor.
Johnny Depp had previously lost a defamation lawsuit filed against a tabloid in Britain that described him as a “female beater”. Production of “Fantastic Beasts 3” began at the end of September. According to the study, the film will hit theaters in July 2022.
