On the third anniversary of his death, Dan Puican, 87 years old in March, prepares for Christian ones, by tradition:

He says that he hasn’t dreamed of it lately, but that he will remain until the end with the unshakable memory of the common performances in which they performed exactly six decades ago on the stage of the State Theater of Brasov, the current “Sica Alexandrescu”.

He played with Stela Popescu in six or seven plays staged in Brasov, between 1960 and 1963, while Stela Popescu remained in the Brasov theater company.
“During her artistic career, Stela Popescu did not take a single exam to join the troupe of any theater she went through. At that time, the capital was closed. After graduation, you went one hundred percent to the province , with distribution in his pocket. But our star quickly dribbled through the system, she was so talented. First he flew to the theater of the “Constantin Tănase” magazine, then to the “Comedy”, after which he returned to the magazine.
He says he was so fascinated by his colleague that he couldn’t resist the temptation to ask her to marry him, extraordinary:

On November 14, 1960, Dan Puican officially married Stela Popescu. Long tours of Transylvania and the country follow, by minibus or train. Or a trip to Bucharest for unforgettable performances by Louis Armstrong and Charles Aznavour. Their marriage lasted eight years. But, one day, Stela Popescu fell madly in love with the one with whom she would spend the next three decades of her life, director Mihai Maximilian. Who simply, with his will, stole it from home in a Renault 16.
Years later, Dan Puican forgave her. On 2 May, in fact, together with his current wife Mioara, they spent unforgettable summers together in the house of Stela Popescu, in the seaside resort. Stela Popescu passed away on November 23, 2017, at the age of 82, following a stroke.
