This weekend we see the first Call of Duty League event of the Black Ops Cold War season, here’s everything from the schedule and format to the players to watch out for.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War launched just over three weeks ago, and its competitive scene has thrived ever since. However, we haven’t seen any official Call of Duty League events yet. That is until this weekend, with the first Challengers Cup. Both NA and the United States will have their own cup, with $ 2,000 for the first team.

Format and support

Call of Duty League Challengers Cups plays exactly like Call of Duty League events. They will play the 4v4 Variation and compete for the best of five in a double elimination group all weekend; with the Grand Final granting an opportunity to resume support for the team from the losers. Teams not only play for the cash prize, but for valuable career points on the battle ladder. Allowing them to be admitted to more tournaments in the future.

Equipment

With the Call of Duty League moving to 4v4 for the 2021 season, we expect to see many former Call of Duty League pros at this season’s amateur Challengers Cups. Some notable former pros to watch out for are Jurd, Censor, Decemate, Blazt, Parasite, Rated, and many more. Some promising players to watch out for are Afro, Neptune, and Fire.

Programming and how to watch

The Challengers Cup begins Saturday, December 5 at 7:30 am ET for the EU draw and at 12:30 pm ET for NA. It will continue until Saturday where the tournament will end and we will see the winners crowned. It hasn’t been confirmed if there will be an official broadcast, but most of your favorite competitors will broadcast their own POV for the tournament.
