The outlook on endometriosis, which affects at least one in ten women of childbearing age, is finally starting to change. This crippling chronic disease, long analyzed through the single prism of its effects on fertility, is now emerging as a real public health problem. While a survey by the EndoFrance association showed in June that 65% of women recognize a negative impact of the disease on their daily professional lives, Alice Romerio, postdoctoral researcher at the Center for Employment and Labor Studies (CETT) also created this blind spot. Her survey, published in November, shows how this invisible and complex disease affects women’s working lives and careers.
