The Android 10-based EMUI 11, which was first shown in September at the Huawei Developer Conference (HDC), will be rolled out to current flagship smartphones in Germany by mid-December. Updates for additional devices are expected by March next year. The new Mate 40 Pro already works from the factory with EMUI 11.
These Huawei smartphones receive EMUI 11
Huawei announced the update schedule for EMUI 11 in Germany in the evening. Overall, the update is planned for the following smartphones: P40, P40 Pro, P40 Pro +, Mate 30 Pro, Mate Xs, P30, P30 Pro, P30 Pro New Edition, Mate 20 X, Mate 20 Pro, Mate 20, Porsche Design Mate 20 RS, Mate 20 X 5G and Nova 5T.
First updates on flagships by mid-December
Huawei wants to split the update into two phases: the current flagships and the older devices. As a first step, updates for the P40, P40 Pro (test), P40 Pro + and Mate 30 Pro smartphones are expected by mid-December this year.
Second phase of updating until March 2021
All the other smartphones mentioned will be supplied by March next year. It is not known when exactly which device will receive the update by March 2021 or if, for example, devices from a mobile phone provider will be their own later. However, all updates should be made available over-the-air (OTA).
Mate 40 Pro by Work with EMUI 11
Buyers of the Mate 40 Pro, which was unveiled at the end of October and which Huawei offers for 1,199 euros, will receive initial access to EMUI 11.
