Elixxir, the cypherpunk and full stack blockchain led by David Chaim outlined the beginning of the selection process of BetaNode. This will start as soon as January 21 and applications will be open from that day.
The Elixxir platform takes advantage of key innovations in decentralized technology and enables better performance and privacy on a global scale. As per the statement issued by the platform, the blockchain meets all the requirements necessary to extend its adoption all over the world. This includes speed, privacy, security and scalability.
The selection process includes six different steps that include a questionnaire, an application, an initial screening, application publishing, an initial selection and a public review, and finally node selection.
The platform should select hundreds of other third-party nodes and support the first commercial implementation of the platform. The selection of the node is only the beginning of the governance process of Elixxir.
David Chaum commented on this:
"To date, blockchain technology has not targeted consumer requirements – it does not have the level of privacy required by consumers, it does not have the kind of transaction speed it needs and can not be integrated into the type of smartphone apps that consumers expect: With Elizzir we have built a platform that meets all these requirements. "
According to the press release, the execution and setting price of a BetaNode is about $ 1,600. The nodes would require a single performant consumption GPU and a modern CPU with 8-16 cores. In addition, a modern CPU would be needed with from 8 to 64 GiB of RAM and from 50 GiB to 2 TiB of disk space. We recommend a 500 megabit network connection.
The launch of BetaNet will support the decentralized application of Elixxir which will allow users to send and receive messages securely and quickly. In the future, a peer-to-peer payment network will be implemented. However, this payment network will be developed and launched as soon as the platform is scaled.
Elixxir's goal is to allow more people to communicate with each other and also to transfer money without intermediaries and knowing that users are protected.
