Discord has long started offering users of the PC version of the messaging system the ability to share their screen during video chats. This is a good helper for anyone who wants to guide friends or family through several steps.
However, the feature is now reaching users on mobile devices as well, with the first tests on the Android version of Discord.
The XDA Developers portal revealed that Discord is testing a new system for screen sharing on Android devices, via the official messaging app. The feature is still only available to a small group of users and is expected to expand to a higher range in the coming weeks.
The feature should appear during video calls made by Discord, in a dedicated button on the screen sharing interface, something similar to what is found in the desktop version. From there, users can initiate the process of sharing what is displayed on the screen with their friends.
Note that Discord isn’t the only platform testing mobile screen sharing systems. Google Duo and Facebook Messenger have also recently started testing this feature for their mobile devices.
This feature was also something that had been requested by users almost two years ago, with more than 1000 votes in favor of the community. However, it is not yet known when it will start being delivered to users in a more comprehensive format.
