Diana enters “The Crown” foreshadowing more pain for Guillermo and Enrique

Princess Diana’s tale gone sour will first enter the British television series The Crown this season, opening the door to more grief for her sons, Princes William and Henry.

“After his death, they begged people to let their mother rest in peace because they found it incredibly disturbing,” British royal biographer Penny Junor said.

Representatives of Guillermo and Enrique declined to comment on the new season of “The Crown”. Enrique, who was 12 when Diana died, said in 2017 that the loss of her mother had “quite a serious effect not only on my personal life but also on my work.”

Diana’s life, told through unprecedented interviews and Andrew Morton’s 1992 biography Diana: Her True Story, has elements of romance, tragedy, lovers, and royalty that make it interesting to review over and over.

Emma Corrin, 24, the first-time actress who plays young Diana and who wasn’t even 2 years old when the princess died, acknowledged that it was overwhelming to play such a beloved figure.

Nick Bullen, editor-in-chief of True Royalty TV, said for many young people Diana “is a character in history”. And he added: “I wouldn’t want to see my parents’ wedding on television.”
