Destiny 2 is the major release of the franchise since 2017 with “Beyond Light”. The expansion will decide whether Destiny can continue as before. The new savior has already been determined. Bungie brought him back from exile and promoted him.

Furthermore, “Beyond Light” also marks the beginning of a new generation of consoles. PS5 and Xbox Series X will not have major launch titles for release. Cyberpunk 2077 has also been postponed: either by chance or by clever planning, Bungie with Destiny is now in a situation where they have another great chance to inspire new players, thanks to the lack of alternatives.

In an interview with Edge he said in October (via gamesradar):
“In a way, it doesn’t matter what people think about it now. What Really Matters: How does the game feel in November? How does the content ecosystem feel and how do experiences feel? Is there enough for people to do? Do you feel bound by the game and want to play Destiny 2 with your friends? “

Who is the new savior? Destiny’s past has been largely determined by Luke Smith, Noseworthy’s longtime partner.
Former WoW journalist and junkie Luke Smith was once shocked by an article with a taser. It has come a long way since then:

In the video document for Beyond Light, however, he appeared to hand over the baton to Joe Blackburn. The visuals and montage suggested that Joe Blackburn would be the new big star in Destiny skies.
While the “old men” of 2014 could speak at the start of the video – Head of Marketing Osborne, Noseworthy and Luke Smith – Blackburn had the space and the last words at the end of the ViDoc.
Smith called him one of Bungie’s “new young leaders” who are so fun to watch as they now take on more responsibility:
Apparently, Blackburn is set to play a pivotal role in how Destiny 2 continues from 2020. The video documentary concludes with Blackburn saying, “Destiny’s best days are still ahead.”
