In Destiny 2, players need to part with an old memory of November 10 in Beyond the Light and trust them.
What will be deleted? MeinMMO recently reported that Destiny 2 was removing numerous items from the game at the launch of Beyond Light. Many of these items are no longer useful in the new world of Beyond Light, they are practically useless ballast in the keeper’s inventories.
With the start of the DLC, nearly half of the game disappears in the content repository. In the results list there are tons of no longer relevant resources or old search objects.
But one item on the list is useless, but far from useless: the “expired noodle soup coupon”.
This is why the coupon is so valuable: The coupon is a reminder of the late NPC Cayde-6. He was and is for many Destiny’s most popular character and loved eating noodles in the tower’s ramen shop.
He was not a typical, glowing hero or moral apostle like Commander Zavala. But a good-hearted rascal as he is in the book – always a lively saying on his lips and ready for any outrage.
Right at the start of the 2018 Forsaken expansion, the leader of the hunters was captured and we avenged Cayde through the history of the Forsaken. In a mini-mission, players could then receive the Noodle Coupon.
You could never redeem the coupon, even the players knew that. They proudly carried the emotionally charged item in their stash for 2 years.

Players are demanding a new memorial for Cayde in Beyond Light
The fact that Bungie will irrevocably cancel this coupon on November 10th is not at all suitable for many players. The community then asks numerous channels to leave the coupon to them, after all it is their inventory space that is occupied.
We also read statements like this on MeinMMO: “Stay away from my coupon! Otherwise I’ll get you a celery! ”By user Millerntorian (via MeinMMO).
Instead, a reddit thread asks for another Cayde souvenir to be given to him, and it’s very popular. Otherwise there is only a small plaque on the floor in front of Zavala in the tower, which commemorates the fallen hero that everyone tramples on.
The desire to immortalize Cayde and the noodle soup coupon as an emblem is mentioned especially often.

This is what Bungie says: Destiny developer Bungie hasn’t commented on whether an exception will be made for the coupon or if players will receive another souvenir from Cayde.
But the “inventor” of the coupon reported: Jonathan Chan wrote the lore text for the coupon and shares a little curiosity about the element on Twitter:
- The text was written to make it clear that Cayde will not be returning.
- In his choice of language he hid a small political message
- The coupon mentions pork for the first time in the Destiny universe – now it’s in good company. Uldren’s spirit is called Pulled Pork.
