Destiny 2: Beyond the Light: Server down – preparation for launch

[ad_1]

If you try to play Destiny 2 today, you will at least stay behind closed doors until the evening. Because Bungie is preparing to launch the extension in a long maintenance period.

Destiny 2 servers are down for the moment. Bungie is busy preparing the servers for the launch of the Beyond Light expansion, which launches today. The servers are not expected to be available until around 6:00 pm to hopefully ensure a smooth start. Actual maintenance takes about three more hours, so individual problems can still arise until 9pm.

At least the download of the new client is already possible. As previously announced, you have to download the game from scratch, a simple update is not enough. This is mainly due to the fact that Bungie has taken some steps to reduce the amount of data and a lot of old content is moved to the content vault. This is having an effect: the previously around 100GB client now takes up just 65GB of hard drive, according to our download.

But there will definitely be some bumps. In a series of tweets, Bungie has posted some issues to be aware of, as well as some bugs already in the works. Also, it can be assumed that you should expect wait times when logging in tonight, as experience has shown that when a new expansion is launched, a large number of players can be expected.

The new Beyond Light expansion brings Europe as a new location beyond the moon of Jupiter, a new campaign and new subclasses for all three classes. At the same time, the first season of year 4 starts with many new features.

The current seasonal arrival ended last night with a live event where the traveler has cured himself and several planets have disappeared into the darkness – the very ones that land in the content vault and are no longer in the game until further notice. . For those of you who missed it, here’s the final footage that Bungie posted on Twitter:
