Destiny 2 servers are down for the moment. Bungie is busy preparing the servers for the launch of the Beyond Light expansion, which launches today. The servers are not expected to be available until around 6:00 pm to hopefully ensure a smooth start. Actual maintenance takes about three more hours, so individual problems can still arise until 9pm.
Pre-loading is now available on all platforms. Players will not be able to access Destiny 2 until 9:00 am PST (1700 UTC) on November 10, when Update 3.0.0.1 is available.

At least the download of the new client is already possible. As previously announced, you have to download the game from scratch, a simple update is not enough. This is having an effect: the previously around 100GB client now takes up just 65GB of hard drive, according to our download.
But there will definitely be some bumps. In a series of tweets, Bungie has posted some issues to be aware of, as well as some bugs already in the works. Also, it can be assumed that you should expect wait times when logging in tonight, as experience has shown that when a new expansion is launched, a large number of players can be expected.
