Deportivo Pasto and Junior add three points in the quarter-finals of the BetPlay League 2020

The BetPlay League continues its course to define the next champion of Colombian professional football, this November 22nd the second date of the quarter-finals was played. On this Sunday the June of Barranquilla Vs. Deportes Tolima and Deportivo Pasto Vs. Independiente Santa Fe met.

The first leg of the Betplay League quarter-finals, between the shark team and the pijaos, was a duel of few occasions which was defined by the precision of the Junior from Barranquilla who played at home.

The team led by Hernán Torres continued their pursuit of the rival goal despite the scoreboard that put them at a disadvantage, but it was an advancement of the lines that Junior was almost able to exploit. Shortly before the end of the first half, Borja specified the second in a restrictive way except for the flown by the elegant goalkeeper who took a shot on the break.

The second half was used by Perea’s men who, despite Tolima’s assault to change the scoreboard, were able to manage the ball and control the advantage.

ISTiburon’s team closed the game with the score in their favor, adding the first three points of the final stretch of the local tournament that will define this series next Sunday in Ibagué.

Deportivo Pasto started the series by winning the first points at their Libertad departmental stadium where they prevailed against a Santa Fe who proposed a game and took risks, but it was not enough.

From the first moment the red espresso imposed the conditions in the match by playing in the rival court and trying to take advantage of the opportunities that weren’t very numerous despite the intensity of the match. For his part, Deportivo Pasto, who felt the pressure, tried to damage the sides, generating goal games that only materialized in the 15 ‘of the match.

The Pasto striker, Jeison Medina, received a ball filtered by Camilo Amaya who managed to beat the goal defended by Leandro Castellano.

After the goal, Santa Fe continued to dominate the ball, generating some actions that prevented the solid defense of the home side led by Diego Corredor from taking hold.

El Pasto waited for the red express in his field and was able to hold back the shares of Santa Fe that until the last minutes of the game tried to add up the score.

The match ended with a goal advantage for Deportivo Pasto, who will have to defend their position in the second match of El Campín, against Santa Fe on the date that will define the keys and outline the next champion of the local tournament.
