Cyberpunk 2077 has been postponed but, for good reason

CD Projekt Red recently revealed the postponement of Cyberpunk 2077 and explained the reasons why the game will no longer be released in November, as originally planned.

The reasons are good and, in principle, it will be the players who benefit from this postponement.

Cyberpunk 2077 is one of the games that most expectations have generated throughout 2020 and, now that its launch was approaching, here comes a bucket of cold water: new postponement.

However, and according to CD Projekt Red, the reasons are the best possible and as such, we can only believe the end result will be even better.

It was CD Projekt Red CEO Adam Kiciński who explained the reasons for the postponement.

According to Kiciński, this postponement relates to an attempt by the development team to optimize the game for the Xbox One and Playstation 4 consoles.

This shows a huge respect for the community of gamers who, at first, will not be able to access the Next Generation consoles when they are released. Therefore, the company intends that players with Current Generation consoles can enjoy the game in its best quality.

Although the game is already running decently on consoles of this generation (Xbox One and Playstation 4), the team decided that there could still be many improvements to be made and as such decided to postpone it to December 10th.

However, and to reassure gamers, Adam also states that Next Generation consoles are not, and have never been, a problem, because "the game is properly prepared for the PC and runs beautifully on Next Generation consoles". Incidentally, if the game were to launch only for PC, Xbox Series X and Playstation 5, its launch could take place on November 19th.

Cyberpunk 2077 will be released on December 10 for Playstation 5, Playstation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, PC and Stadia.
