This Saturday, France experienced 86,852 new cases of covid-19 according to the government. If the figure seems huge, compared to previous days, it is not necessarily a record. The reason ? A computer bug. Public health France promises the “correction” and the real figures of Monday 9 November!

The number of new coronavirus cases it is more and more impressive every day. 86,852 new cases in the 24 hours following the 60,486 new cases the day before, figures that would have passed Public health France. Why ? Not because of the second wave – which affects all of Europe – but because of a computer bug affecting the servers of the increasing figures. Furthermore, in recent days, the organization no longer presents the daily data but the total contamination.

It must therefore be understood that part of the 86,000 new cases on Saturday tested positive a few days ago, but their result was lost in the system, and therefore was not taken into account. They then artificially inflated the figure presented on Saturday.

The bug dates back to October 28 and is related to “technical problems” related to the influx of tests. This Sunday, the entire flow of test results “is re-established” between the national SI-DEP collector and public health France and, the government website reads, “the correction of the data as well as the analysis of the indicators are in course the weeklies that will be published on Monday 9 November in the update of the epidemiological point of 5 November “.

It remains that the figures of total contamination presented by Public Health France, 1,748,705 confirmed cases, is very real.
