According to a review by the University of Texas news portal, 5,000 people infected with the new coronavirus participated in the study in the city of Houston. Samples were collected at different stages of the pandemic and compared. The mutation they studied would be in one of the virus’s “spike proteins” and it’s called “D614G”.
