Five people have already tested positive for COVID-19 in this outbreak.

The regional director, Dr. Sylvain Leduc, invites the population to work together to limit the transmission of the coronavirus in the community.

“To break the chain of transmission, we need to track down everyone who has been potentially exposed to the virus and isolate them, if applicable. If you get a call from public health, I ask you to cooperate with us, “he said in a statement.

Last Thursday the Dr Leduc called on the people of Bas-Saint-Laurent to make a last ditch effort to prevent the region from entering the red zone.
