COVID-19: four positive tests and a case withdrawn in Bas-Saint-Laurent

The CISSS du Bas-Saint-Laurent reports an increase of three positive cases for COVID-19 in its report on Monday, November 9, bringing the total to 558 cases since the start of the pandemic.

In fact, there are two new cases in each of Matanie and Rimouski-Neigette CKDs. However, an “unclassified” case was also withdrawn, bringing the overall increase to three for the day.

As of Sunday, 10 am, there are still two hospitalizations linked to COVID-19 and it is reported that 476 people have now recovered. According to these data from the regional public health authorities, to which the nine deaths are added, 73 cases are active in Bas-Saint-Laurent. They would probably be listed mainly in the east of the territory.

Note that CISSS is reporting today an outbreak at the Résidence des Sages de Matane, where two users and an employee tested positive for the virus on November 9. An outbreak was also observed at Rimouski’s GMF-U, when three employees tested positive.

As for the outbreak at the Les Bâtisseurs residence in Matane, the situation is stable, while no new cases have been reported. A total of 62 people (48 residents, 11 workers and 3 health care workers) were infected with COVID-19. One user is currently hospitalized.

Over 400 screening tests were carried out on Sunday.
