The situation regarding covid-19 infections in the Venezuelan Professional Baseball League (Lvbp) is complicated. Journalists Daniel Álvarez and Víctor Boccone reported that at least 13 infected have been detected in La Guaira Sharks.

On the positive side are players and members of the coaching staff. They are still waiting for more results. Cases are asymptomatic.

This Thursday they will train at the University, a session in which the manager Gustavo Molina will have to define the roster for the first match of the 2020-2021 harvest which will start this Friday.

Víctor Gárate has announced Carlos Quevedo as the owner of the opening match in Leones.

Previously, the Leones del Caracas epidemic had already been confirmed. Those affected were isolated.

For the infectologist Julio Castro, the Lvbp epidemic “is an expression of what is happening in the communities: there is transmission in asymptomatic patients and the trend seems to increase”.

Game suspended

The match between Navegantes del Magallanes and Bravos de Margarita which was supposed to be played this Friday has been suspended.

The groups reached an agreement. This was because the whole Margarita had not been able to start with their practices.

The postponed match will be part of a double card set for Wednesday 2 December at the José Bernardo Pérez stadium in Valencia.
