LThe second wave continues to hit hard in Outaouais, as these additions raise the number of deaths from the pandemic reported in the last six regional reports to ten.
One of the two most recent victims of the virus in Outaouais lived at home, while the other lived in the Le Monastery residence, in the Aylmer sector. This is the first death caused by the pandemic to be lamented in this private residence for the elderly where an epidemic has affected some people.
Another death in the region will also appear in the official report in the coming days. The ministerial list of private residences for the elderly affected by COVID-19 cases shows that this is a person who lived at the Cité-Jardin complex in the Gatineau sector, information confirmed by the Integrated Center of Health and Social Services of Outaouais (CISSSO ).
Bad news therefore continues to accumulate in this complex of approximately 900 doors, as this is the twelfth death caused by the virus to be deplored. About 100 confirmed cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed so far in Cité-Jardin.
The pandemic has so far claimed 61 victims in Outaouais, including 28 since the start of the second wave.
