A La Rochelle startup has developed an algorithm to predict with 95% certainty whether or not a patient will develop severe Covid-19. A study launched in collaboration with the La Rochelle hospital

Since March, engineers at a La Rochelle startup have worked tirelessly to develop an algorithm that can predict whether a patient with Covid-19 is at risk of developing a severe form of the disease or not. “What we can predict is the risk of patient deterioration within five days, and in particular the risk of death, with a mathematical calculation applied to the blood samples.”

It is in the Analysis Laboratory of the La Rochelle Hospital that it all begins. The results are sent to the calculator. Hormonal and immune disorders, or those of the vegetative nervous system, are studied and associated with a patient lifestyle questionnaire.

The challenge is knowing what impact our way of life will have on our health and metabolism. Therefore, treatments may be prescribed before severe symptoms appear.
