Health indicators are improving every day in France and Occitania. 3,293 people are still in intensive care.
While the United States reaches a level of contamination never reached and Italy has never suffered so many deaths in 24 hours (993 deaths), in France the situation continues to slowly improve.
In France, 1,500 fewer contaminations
This Friday, the number of contaminations in 24 hours dropped to 11,221, nearly 1,500 fewer than the day before (12,696). According to Public Health France, the number of hospitalized patients rises to 26,311, or 392 fewer than on Thursday, and, among them, 3,293 are in intensive care, 132 fewer than the day before.
667 additional deaths were recorded, including 284 in hospitals, adds Public Health France, bringing the death toll in France to 54,767 deaths since the outbreak began. Nursing home results are only updated twice a week, on Tuesdays and Fridays.
In Occitania 218 people in intensive care
For Occitania, the regional health authority details the main indicators of hospital activity: 1,550 hospitalizations are still underway on Friday evening (- 121 since Tuesday), 218 of which in intensive care (- 44 in three days). Since the start of the epidemic in March, 1,762 deaths have been observed in health institutions (+50 in three days).
Furthermore, the test positive rate is slowly decreasing. It is 8.9%. Occitania records an average of 714 new cases every day.
This bulletin confirms both encouraging signs of change in health indicators “but also the fragility of the current situation”, according to the ARS, which encourages “collective vigilance which must remain very strong at the end of the year to avoid a new recovery in the epidemic”.
