After an increase in contamination observed yesterday, the evolution of the coronavirus epidemic appears to stabilize for a week.

Public Health France released the results this Thursday 3 December. 12,696 new positive cases have been diagnosed in France in the past 24 hours and a further 324 deaths have been recorded. The total number of victims has risen to 54,140 since the start of the outbreak.

26,073 patients are hospitalized in France, 310 fewer than the day before. Among these, 3,425 patients are being treated in the intensive care unit, 63 fewer than the day before.

This week is marked by the continuous decline in coronavirus circulation in France which is also confirmed at the hospital level. The decrease in hospitalizations, delayed by one week compared to new contaminations, is in line with the dynamics observed in April 2020. These results indicate that the peak of new contaminations and hospitalizations of the second wave has been exceeded according to Public Health France.
