The number of corona infections in the world exceeds 50 million

According to the University of Johns Hopkins, there are now more than 50 million confirmed coronavirus infections worldwide. The number of deaths related to the virus has been 1.25 million since the start of the pandemic, according to data from the University of Baltimore in the United States on Sunday.

On Saturday alone, the number of new infections reported increased by half a million. Probably due to the cooler climate, the pandemic has recently spread particularly strongly to countries in the Northern Hemisphere, including Europe and North America. According to US experts, nearly 50.1 million confirmed infections have been reported worldwide since Sunday. According to the World Health Organization, there were 49.6 million infections and 1.25 million deaths.

Most of the confirmed infections are in the United States, followed by India and Brazil in second and third place. The two densely populated countries have the most deaths after the United States.

EU countries strengthen crown measures

Great Britain bans entry from Denmark

Britain now bans visitors from Denmark from entering the country. The background is coronavirus outbreaks in mink farms, Transportation Secretary Grant Shapps tweeted.
