  • The traditional British royal family Christmas could fall this year.

  • Queen employees are not allowed to celebrate with their families. The risk of them contracting the coronavirus and infecting the monarch would be too high.

  • The approximately 20 employees are now standing sideways, building insiders say.

  • For the first time ever, the queen appeared in public wearing a face mask.

It’s the same royal procedure year after year: Just before Christmas, Queen Elizabeth II (94) travels a two and a half hour train ride from London to the east coast to her Sandringham House. The other family members follow her on Christmas Eve. On Christmas day, the royal entourage visits mass in the church of Santa Maria Maddalena and is celebrated by fans and onlookers in front of the church.

This year it will be quiet at Christmas in County Norfolk – the traditional royal family Christmas party is on the verge as Queen Elizabeth’s employees stand up.

Too great a risk for the queen and prince

Due to the blockade of the Crown in Britain, the Queen is currently at Windsor Castle with her husband, Prince Philip (99). By Christmas they would be back on their private property in Sandringham.

For the approximately 20 employees, however, this would mean that they would not be allowed to see their families during the Christmas season. The risk of being infected with Covid-19 during the celebrations and thus infecting the monarch would be too great.

Employees defend themselves from quarantine

“We were told we shouldn’t expect the Queen to return for Christmas,” a Sandringham informant told the Sun. Another whistleblower says the problem has not yet been resolved because employees still refuse to go into quarantine.

Nothing has been officially decided yet. “A final decision on Christmas has not yet been made,” says a Buckingham Palace spokesperson. The fact is: it would be the first Christmas since 1987 that the royal family has not celebrated in Sandringham.

For the first time he wears a mask

Queen Elizabeth provided another news this weekend: on the latest pictures (at the top of the presentation) is shown for the first time ever with a hygienic mask. The monarch visited a soldier’s grave in Westminster Abbey and placed flowers. In keeping with the occasion, he wore a black mask over his mouth and nose. The photos were taken on Wednesday, a spokesperson said.

Until now, the queen had consistently been unmasked. After a visit to an armaments technology center in mid-October, he received harsh criticism. The palace at the time stressed that the rules of distance had been observed.

In April, Queen Elizabeth addressed the British people in a historic televised speech about the crown pandemic.
