Champion of Champions: Robertson after defeating Selby in the final

The two former world champions shared the first two rounds. Selby played a 70 in frame one, Robertson responded with a 68 in the second frame, then the Englishman took the third lap thanks to breaks of 54 and 81 points.

But Robertson managed to equalize again with a 100: it should be the first of six centuries in seven frames. Selby played 137 and 131 twice, Robertson played 141 – the new highest break of the tournament – and 121. The level was incredibly high.

“It’s the best ‘best of 11’ match I’ve ever seen,” said snooker legend Stephen Hendry in his role as “ITV” expert during the semi-finals.

In the final, the defending champion meets the winner of the second semifinal between Judd Trump and Mark Allen. In 2019, Robertson beat Trump in the final 10: 9.
