Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War will need more than 100GB on PS5 and Xbox Series X / S

Upgrade

Activision has officially revealed how much it will weigh on each console:

  • PlayStation 4: 95 GB
  • PlayStation 5: 133 GB
  • Xbox One: 93 GB
  • Xbox Series X | S: 136 GB

With Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Infinity Ward had a problem with the weight of his title, which got even fatter when Warzone was integrated into the PC version, which at first couldn’t be uninstalled. Much later they offered the possibility to choose the contents to install, first in the console and then in the compatible version. Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War appears to follow a similar path to its predecessor, as the Microsoft Store has confirmed that gamers will need to reserve at least 100GB of space on their hard drive.

The PC requirements already suggested that the title wasn’t exactly going to be lightweight. According to Activision itself, the new installment will take up 175GB (or 250GB at the highest quality) on that platform. Of course, they point out that it will with all game modes installed. By continuing to provide options to control what gets installed and what doesn’t, that number can be greatly reduced. Either way, you’ll need to tighten your belt for now so all the content can be on the console.

How much space do the hard drives have on the new Xbox?

In particular Xbox Series X It has a 1TB hard drive, but of all the space, you can use around 802GB. The cheapest model, Xbox Series SIt comes with a 500GB hard drive, and while the space that will be free for games and other content hasn’t been officially confirmed, some sources point to around 364GB.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War will be released soon November 13 on Xbox One, Xbox Series X, PS4 and PC (via Battle.net). The PS5 version will be available from the moment the console is released, which is November 12 in the United States, Mexico, Japan, etc. And on November 12 in Spain and the rest of Europe.
