Borussia Dortmund and Erling Haaland could set a new precedent over the weekend. The attacker was placed in ten-day quarantine by health authorities in Oslo when he left Norway. The 20-year-old is likely to violate this.

As reported by “Bild”, Borussia Dortmund plan to use the striker on Saturday (20:30) against Hertha BSC, if the mandatory crown test is negative on his return from Norway. The quarantine was ordered in Norway, but it is probably not valid beyond national borders.

Invalid quarantine

“But the responsibilities of the Norwegian authorities and the scope of Norwegian rules and regulations cease when the players leave the country.”Lise Klaveness, head of the football department of the Norwegian Football Association, told NTB news agency.

At the BVB, all international returnees are regularly tested before they can rejoin the team. “We will continue to take zero risks”explains licensed player boss Sebastian Kehl at the “Ruhr Nachrichten”.

Sörloth should play too

RB Leipzig’s procedure proves that Haaland’s Giallorossi respect the law. As with Haaland, in the case of Alexander Sörloth a quarantine was ordered when he left.

According to specifications from the Leipzig health department, the 24-year-old can resume training on Tuesday due to a negative test. Nothing stands in the way of a mission on Saturday (18:30) against Eintracht Frankfurt. Unlike Haaland, Sörloth is said to have neither consented to the quarantine order nor signed the corresponding document.
