The RM of Deloraine-Winchester has enjoyed the new Community Complex that the area has raised funds in recent years. The $ 3.7 million facility can hold up to 400 people and has already been used for a number of different events.
Jenn McMechan is responsible for recreation and community development for the RM.
He says the facility is great for residents in the community, in the area and in the whole municipality.
"It's a great hall," explains McMechan, "but on the secondary side, because it's also in collaboration with the curling club, they have a smaller space up there, but it's up to them if they want to rent it to people.
"But there is a big beautiful kitchen, a nice big room … it's very beautiful and new!"
McMechan says they have been very busy since they opened their doors in October.
Among fish fries, auction sales, Christmas events and a series of recreational programs, residents of the area were able to enjoy the new structure.
2019 looks very promising with the list that is getting longer than scheduled events, including social weddings and other community events.
