BOLA – Sporting is the Portuguese club with the highest number of players trained to play in the ‘big-5’ (Sporting)

Sporting is the Portuguese club with the highest number of players trained in the club to play in the top five European leagues (Germany, Spain, France, England and Italy), according to a ranking published by CIES – Observatório do Futebol.

Occupying 19th place on a list led by Real Madrid, Sporting has 19 players trained to play in the so-called “big-5”. Benfica are in 26th place, with 15 players, while FC Porto, with 12, are in 41st place.

Taking into account all 31 European leagues, Sporting remains the best positioned Portuguese club, with 56 players spread across the continent, while Benfica have 50 and FC Porto have 48.
