The president of the Portuguese Football Association has posted on the organization’s website a congratulatory message to the Under-21 National Team for qualifying for the European Championship level.
Here is Fernando Gomes’ message:

I warmly congratulate all the players who participated in this campaign, as well as the technical team and all the staff. Your qualification makes all football, sport and the country itself proud.
In this hour of great joy, I cannot fail to address a special word to Rui Jorge, who in the coming days will complete ten years in the service of the FPF. This qualification therefore also has a special meaning.
I conclude with a word of thanks to all those who, directly or indirectly, have contributed in a decisive way to this moment of generational affirmation of the quality and talent that exists among us ».
