Biden’s campaign launched a series of social media accounts and a website to expose its main lines that it had promised to work on starting Monday 9-N.
United States President-elect Joe Biden announced this Sunday 9-N the launch of his transition team which will focus on the country’s major current challenges: addressing the coronavirus pandemic, economic recovery, advancing racial equity and fighting the climate change crisis.
Just a day after his victory speech, Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris noted that they are already working to address America’s most pressing challenges.
Among them, they cited “protecting and preserving the health of the nation, renewing opportunities for success, promoting racial equity and fighting the climate crisis”.
Biden’s campaign launched a series of social media accounts and a website to expose its main lines that it had promised to work on starting Monday 9-N.
It is unclear, however, whether the president-elect’s different teams will have access to major federal agencies as the outgoing president, Donald Trump, has failed to acknowledge his defeat and continues to point, without evidence, at election fraud.
The most urgent thing, according to Biden and Harris’ preliminary plans, is to tackle the coronavirus pandemic, especially as cases in the United States have risen again with more than 120,000 per day and deaths already exceed 237,000.
“The American people deserve a quick, solid and professional response to the growing economic and health crisis caused by the Covid-19 epidemic,” notes the website.
Biden, a former vice president between 2009 and 2017 with then-President Barack Obama, appeared last night in his victory speech from Wilmington, Delaware, where he resides, as a conciliatory leader who will seek to end polarization in the country.
The projection of the triumph of the veteran Democrat politician came after nearly four days of heartbreaking wait, as states counted the record of ballots mailed in the highest turnout in US history.
