The context of the COVID-19 pandemic has changed our lives. In health care, the spikes have shaken the foundations of health care. In the case of the organization of these awards, promoted by GM in collaboration with the Department of Innovation and Health Management of the Rey Juan Carlos University, the opportunity was clear: it had to be reinvented.
That’s why this year’s BiC 2020 Awards gala will be closer than ever, with the click of a button on a television program format that will be broadcast on December 17 at 4:30 pm through GM and El. Global’s websites.
In this online ceremony the winners of this edition will be announced and the reactions of the teams that have managed to be in the top positions will be offered at a time when the quality in patient care, the watchword of these awards, is an “anchor” harder”.

It goes without saying that circumstances make it impossible to bring together hundreds of personalities from the world of health and healthcare in a space, however large, as they know has happened in previous editions. However, this year we go one step further and will bring you together across the screen.
Furthermore, the organization is aware that at a time like the one we are experiencing, resources, including the health workers who are awarded here, must be available in hospitals and health centers.
Despite the difficulties and the huge demand for care, the reception of the BiC Awards 2020 was once again excellent. The services that submit their applications year after year have sent a clear message. The health sector needs more recognition than ever to address what still lies ahead.
This year, the awards go a step further to bring the entire healthcare sector together on the screen, an appointment in which we are all waiting
Some figures speak for themselves. In total, more than 600 applications were submitted for this edition. Moreover, with the representation of almost all the autonomous communities.
It should not be forgotten that in most categories candidates must complete a questionnaire that comprehensively reviews the tasks and means and that it takes time that no one has, so the gratitude is endless.
In emblematic categories, such as the award for the best hospital for the quality of patient care, the main centers in our country, for a total of 48 hospitals, presented their candidacies.
Along the same lines, more than thirty projects have been presented for the Health Care Humanization Award, an interest that shows that these initiatives, which were only a trend in the health sector until a few years ago, are here to stay.
Along with the already traditional awards, new prizes will be awarded in the main medical areas and specialties this year. The new category for asthma or the new hospital pharmacy award in IMIDS are proof of this. As an award with a long future and a long history that will evaluate the work of the Best Reference Unit for CAR-T Therapies, which had a specialized jury in charge of finding the best in its category.
At the same time, that of Preventive Medicine and Public Health, now essential, is recovered and others born just a year ago are consolidated, such as the best strategy in oncolology focused on children and adolescents, and the BiC awards for bone fragility, headaches, palliative care and hemodynamics.
