Fraudulent actors currently float the internet claiming association with cryptocurrency and wallet company Blockchain.com, as confirmed by the Financial Conduct Authority, or FCA, a UK-based regulatory entity.
The imitators claim the association with Blockchain.com under Blockchain Ltd, a clone version of the real company. Genuine Blockchain.com, with agent Blockchain Access UK Ltd, and main entity Modulr FS Limited, holds legitimate FCA clearance, according to a notice released by the FCA on Friday.
“The scammers use the details of the companies we authorize to try to convince people who work for a genuine and licensed company,” the FCA said in the warning. The FCA labels these criminal efforts as clones.
“This company is not licensed or registered by us, but it has targeted people in the UK claiming to be a licensed company,” the Blockchain.com clone’s FCA said.
The warning message includes details of the real registered entities, Modulr FS Limited and Blockchain Access UK Ltd. The post also highlights some of the known email addresses and phone numbers of the evil characters, which exclude surnames in their email addresses. mail.
