In the near future, a non-fungible token collectible game will arrive in the Bitcoin Cash ecosystem. The project called “Enter the Sphere” aims to bring its NFT collectible universe to Bitcoin Cash by leveraging the Simple Ledger Protocol (SLP). Last week the team behind the project successfully raised 101 BCH ($ 24k) to kickstart the NFT experience.
Last year, a number of software engineers invoked the Simple Ledger Protocol (SLP) which allows the creation of authorization-less tokens on the Bitcoin Cash (BCH) network. Since then, over 15,500 tokens have been created, and a number of SLP tokens have accumulated real value.
Now that the Bitcoin Cash (BCH) update is finished and behind the community, supporters and developers can get back to building innovative onchain projects. A particular project called “Enter the Sphere” or the Sphere for short, plans to introduce non-fungible collectibles (NFTs) into the BCH chain.
“The Sphere is a collectible RPG card game based on SLP NFT technology, where participants fight to climb the Tower and sit on the Throne,” explains the recently completed Flipstarter business plan. “Only one player or one team wins each round with the prize.”
The developers note that they wanted to bring the “first polished use case for NFT to Bitcoin Cash” and started the Flipstarter funding program to get started.
The Flipstarter plan shows that about seven days ago the developers completed 101 BCH ($ 24k) funding that came from a host of BCH enthusiasts who donated.
According to the game recap, Sphere will be a role-playing fighting game (RPG) but will also have battle royale and poker mechanics. In addition to Flipstarter’s business plan, the team also has a formal Telegram channel.
Three weeks ago, Spice Token Co-Founder and SLP Foundation Director Joey_B_Wong wrote a comprehensive recap of the Sphere game and experience. The editorial written on the blogging platform read.cash discusses the main Sphere game and also shows a sample video.
The three-minute video offers a unique visual perspective of the Bitcoin Cash-based Sphere game and things to come. According to Wong’s blog post, the game will also introduce a new token called ORB, an SLP token that “will play an important role in the ecosystem.”
Wong also said the ORB token will work “in synergy with Spice, which is an already well-adopted token”. The blog post published three weeks ago says the team hopes to have the pre-alpha version of the game ready by Christmas.
The developers of the Sphere game are currently looking for playtesters and feedback. The co-founder of the Spice token also said the game will allow players to deposit and withdraw tokens, as well as allow players to buy and sell unique items and avatars.
